Mr. Barnitt is a successful entrepreneur with a background in private equity and entrepreneurship. He founded Attract Capital in 2000 to address the void in the market for mezzanine capital access. Under his leadership, Attract Capital has become a leading global financial advisory firm. The firm is built upon a foundation of corporate finance expertise, practical experience, and legendary customer service. Throughout the course of his 25 year career, he has been involved in over 125 transactions, totaling over $1.0 billion in value.
Mr. Barnitt is widely regarded as an expert in the private debt and mergers and acquisitions markets. With prior experience as a financier, C-Level executive, and entrepreneur, Mr. Barnitt has a broad base of experience. He has worked at Ernst & Young, JP Morgan Chase, GE Capital, Bank of America, and Greyrock Capital Group. He has held various leadership roles at early stage and middle market companies including health care, distribution and technology-based companies.
Mr. Barnitt is a frequent lecturer on private equity and mezzanine debt throughout the United States. He has created learning forums to help business owners better understand the power of mezzanine finance. These include the New York Mergers & Acquisition Council (NYMAC) and Private Equity Growth Forums. He has taught numerous classes to Vistage members throughout the US. He has conducted joint seminars and webinars with companies such as Goldman Sachs, Nixon Peabody, Capital One Bank, McGladrey LLP, and HSBC Bank. He has authored a learning program on helping business owners understand investors. Mr. Barnitt has an undergraduate degree in accounting from Georgetown University and has an MBA in Finance from the Columbia Business School.
